Lord, we commend to you the life of your servant, Pope Benedict XVI, our Shepherd here on Earth, as you call him to witness for you in the United Kingdom. May the Holy Spirit go mightily with him, to preserve and keep him safe, and to thwart the devices of the Enemy and of all those who hate him. May through him your light illumine those who are in darkness. Amen
