APOSTOLIC JOURNEY OF HIS HOLINESS POPE BENEDICT XVI TO THE UNITED KINGDOM (SEPTEMBER 16-19, 2010) EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION HOMILY OF HIS HOLINESS BENEDICT XVI Bellahouston Park - Glasgow Thursday, 16 September 2010 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, “The Kingdom of God is very near to you!” (Lk 10:9). With these words of the Gospel we have just heard, I greet all of you with great affection in the Lord. Truly the Lord’s Kingdom is already in our midst! At this Eucharistic celebration in which the Church in Scotland gathers around the altar in union with the Successor of Peter, let us reaffirm our faith in Christ’s word and our hope – a hope which never disappoints – in his promises! I warmly greet Cardinal O’Brien and the Scottish Bishops; I thank in particular Archbishop Conti for his kind words of welcome on your behalf; and I express my deep gratitude for the work that the British and Scottish Governments and the Glasgow city fathers have done to make this occasion possible.

Feast of Our Lady Of Sorrows

When Jesus saw His mother standing beside the cross with the disciple whom He loved, He said to her: Woman, behold your son. Then He said to the disciple: Behold your mother. September 15 is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.   Prayer to Our Lady Of Sorrows (Feast – September 15) O most holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ: by the overwhelming grief you experienced when you witnessed the martyrdom, the crucifixion, and death of your divine Son, look upon me with eyes of compassion, and awaken in my heart a tender commiseration for th.. ... .ose sufferings, as well as a sincere detestation of my sins, in order that being disengaged from all undue affection for the passing joys of this earth, I may sigh after the eternal Jerusalem, and that henceforward all my thoughts and all my actions may be directed towards this one most desirable object. Honor, glory, and love to our divine Lord Jesus, and to the holy and immaculate Mother of God. Amen

Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross

Exaltation of the Cross While St. Francis of Assisi was praying on the mountain of Verna, during a forty-day fast in preparation for Michaelmas (September 29), he is said to have had a vision on or about September 14, 1224, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, as a result of which he received the stigmata. Brother ... Leo, who had been with Francis at the time, left a clear and simple account of the event, the first definite account of the phenomenon of stigmata. September 17 is the date of celebrating the receiving by St. Francis of the Stigmata. Franciscan Prayer on Sighting the Cross: We adore Thee, Our Most Holy Lord, Jesus Christ, in all Thy churches which are in the world, and we bless Thee, because by Thy Holy Cross, Thou hast redeemed the world, with Mary. Amen.

Things to Ponder.....

At night, the stars may lose the battle against the street lamp, the vehicle headlight and the neon lights to which shines the brightest. It does not matter anyway. Once the man-made electricity breaks down, the stars remain, ready to show themselves as eternal lights that never fail. Don't let this world's lights blind us so we won't see the stars. Don't let the fancies of the world, the attractions, the luxuries, the joys, to make us fall short for some of the Kingdom's attributes, which is faith, hope and charity. Always think of the reality of eternal life, and that everything in this world is temporary and will not give you the happiness that yo

Take a look on this..... hmmmmm....

In order to call someone as truly "yours", save the purity of your bf/gf until God unites you in marriage. God is like a store owner whom you want to buy from him rice. He wants you to buy the whole sack fresh. Per kilo can be good but not the best. The rice could lose its quality and might even be retailed to others. God desires the best for you, He only needs your cooperation.

Ponder on this.... and meditate...

Two men at Heaven's gate. One brings his ID's in church organizations and charitable institutions and presented them to the gatekeeper. The other has brought nothing, and presented something to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper let him in first. The first man asked, "Why?" The gatekeeper answered, "That guy loved the Lord all his life and suffered for Him. He bear the Lord's ID in his hands".

Happy Birthday Mama Mary....... love you so much... My Queen and my Mother..

September 8 - Today the Church celebrates the FEAST OF THE BIRTH OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated at least by the sixth century, when St. Romanos the Melodist, an Eastern Christian who composed many of the hymns used in the Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox liturgies, composed a hymn for the feast. The feast spread to Rome in the seventh century, but it was a couple more centuries before it was celebrated throughout the West. The traditional date of the feast, September 8, falls exactly nine months after the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Perhaps because of its close proximity to the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is not celebrated today with the same solemnity as the Immaculate Conception. It is, nonetheless, a very important feast, because it prepares the way for the birth of Christ. The source for the story of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Ma

Vatican: stoning in Iran adultery case 'brutal'

By FRANCES D'EMILIO, Associated Press Writer Frances D'emilio, Associated Press Writer – Sun Sep 5, 1:04 pm ET     VATICAN CITY – The Vatican raised the possibility Sunday of using behind-the-scenes diplomacy to try to save the life of an Iranian widow sentenced to be stoned for adultery. In its first public statement on the case, which has attracted worldwide attention, the Vatican decried stoning as a particularly brutal form of capital punishment . Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said the Catholic church opposes the death penalty in general. It is unclear what chances any Vatican bid would have to persuade the Muslim nation to spare the woman's life. Brazil, which has friendly relations with Iran, was rebuffed when it offered her asylum. Saki

Vocation Seminar in the Society of Jesus

+A.M.D.G. Yesterday August 29, 2010, I attended the Vocation Seminar at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, the said parish is run by a religious congregation under the Society of Jesus or the Jesuits. It was a very good and a life changing experience so to speak, they let us know the way of life as a member of their Society and their Charism, i was touched when Fr. Mon, SJ told us that we dont have to always pray to God on what we want to our life, coz we often ask God to give us this and that, rather we ask God on what do you want me to do for you? and Why did you put me here? this Question reckons me on the day that i found and learned that he is calling me to enter religious life, though i told my Divine Master that i offer my life for him and im willing to give up everything for him but i never ask him those questions, maybe i was afraid that He might answer me to a things or give me or i should say send me to congregation whom i dont like much, but as what Brother Chrys,SJ said as

I took this from Pray Often.net..... Consecrate the World to Our Lady!

August 15, 2010 Feast of the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary The following story illustrates the great power Our Lady has and the importance of praying for the conversion of sinners.  I found this from the following artical:  http://www.sspx.org/books/Is_Feeneyism_Catholic.pdf *** *** *** *** There was in the 19th century in France a very famous converted Jew, Fr. Augustine Marie of the Blessed Sacrament, born Hermann Cohen. After his conversion, he became a Carmelite monk and a renowned preacher. He restored the Carmelite Order in England. He worked hard for the conversion of his family. By the grace of God, he succeeded in the conversion of his sister and her son;but he did not succeed with the conversion of his mother. He prayed, made sacrifices, talked with her, to no avail. She died with no apparent sign of repentance. The poor monk was so sad, yet never despaired in the mercy of the Sacred Heart. For several years, God left him in this trial; but one day he met the holy
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Solemnity August 15th Mateo Cerezo Assumption of Mary Oil on canvas, 237 x 169 cm Museo del Prado, Madrid 'See the beauty of the daughter of Jerusalem, who ascended to heaven like the rising sun at dawn.' -- Benedictus antiphon from Daily Office "By contemplating Mary in heavenly glory, we understand that the earth is not the definitive homeland for us either, and that if we live with our gaze fixed on eternal goods we will one day share in this same glory and the earth will become more beautiful. Consequently, we must not lose our serenity and peace even amid the thousands of daily difficulties. The luminous sign of Our Lady taken up into Heaven shines out even more brightly when sad shadows of suffering and violence seem to loom on the horizon. "We may be sure of it: from on high, Mary follows our footsteps with gentle concern, dispels the gloom in moments of darkness and distress, reassures us with
