Eucharistic miracles conferences slated in Jaro, Cagayan de Oro

JARO, Iloilo City, July 16, 2012―A series of conferences on the scientific findings of the Eucharistic miracles will be held in the archdioceses of Jaro and Cagayan de Oro sometime this month. The conferences, titled “Eucharistic Miracles, the triumph of faith over science”, will be open to the clergy, religious, the laity and the general public. Main speaker for the conferences will be Dr. Ricardo Castañon Gomez, a Cognitive Neuropsychologist and a member of a pool of scientists that have examined various claimed mystical phenomena for the Church throughout the world. A doctor in abnormal psychology, with university studies in Germany and Italy who specializes in psychosomatic medicine, Gomez has also carried out psychotherapy specialty studies in London, pathologies in Lyons-France, toxico-dependencies in the University of Berkeley in California and applied psychology in Louvain, Belgium. Year of Faith could see beatification of John Paul I, Paul VI

ROME, Italy, July 10, 2012--A former head of the Vatican's congregation on saints' causes says Pope Benedict XVI could beatify his predecessors Pope John Paul I and Pope Paul VI during the upcoming Year of Faith. Although the process beatification is “generally very complex, in this case, the phases have been moving ahead,” Cardinal Jose Saraiva Martins, prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, told Italian newspaper Corriere delle Alpi June 25. After the beatification of John Paul II in May of 2011, Pope Benedict's possible beatifications of John Paul I and Paul VI would be the first time in history that a Pope has beatified three of his predecessors. Bishop consecrates priests, seminarians for renewed fight vs RH Bill

SAN PABLO City, July 17, 2012―San Pablo Bishop Leo Drona on Monday has consecrated his priests, religious and seminarians to prepare them for a renewed battle against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) Bill which Congress wants railroaded and passed.
